Indian Railways places a massive order for 84,000 wagons
Indian Railways (IR) has placed an order for 84,000 wagons, the highest in the national transporter’s history. This would help boost the railways’ freight transportation share to 45 percent by 2030 from 27 percent at present.
Union minister Darshana Jardosh said that railways are expected to load over 1,500 million tonnes of goods this year.
