NTPC likely to buy stakes in USA based thorium energy firm CCTE
Government-owned NTPC is in talks to buy a minority stake in US-based nuclear fuel technology company Clean Core Thorium Energy (CCTE). The move is in line with India's nuclear power capacity expansion plans.
It would also help NTPC as it looks to set up around 30 GW of company-owned nuclear projects across various locations in the country. The decision of investment is, however, subject to due diligence and statutory/ regulatory approvals.
