Odisha government in talks with NPCIL and NTPC for nuclear power plants in the state
The state government of Odisha is in talks with government-owned NTPC Ltd and Nuclear Power Corporation of India Ltd (NPCIL) for having nuclear power plants in the state. As per the updates from The Economic Times, the talks are on for a joint venture with NTPC and NPCIL, as the state sees this as an opportunity for clean base electricity load for the future.
State government is looking to harness Odisha's rich thorium deposits, an essential asset for advancing India's nuclear ambitions.
