Sinnar Thermal power plant bidding: Mahagenco-NTPC emerges highest bidder
The consortium of Maharashtra state government-owned power generation company Mahagenco and public sector NTPC has emerged as the highest bidder for the 1,350 MW Sinnar Thermal Power plant near Nashik. A bid of Rs 3,800 crore by the consortium is above the second-placed Adani Power in the initial round of bids.
Sinnar plant is a subsidiary of RattanIndia Power, which is currently defunct and has unresolved coal supply issues and right-of-way problems. As of now, lenders are evaluating the legal and other compliances of the bidders, following which negotiations with individual bidders will start.
