AIIMS Madurai: Operationalization likely by January next year
The upcoming All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) Madurai in Tamil Nadu is set to begin operations in January 2027. AIADMK Rajya Sabha MP IS Inbadurai informed that the hospital will begin operations with 150 beds.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi laid the foundation for the project in January 2019, but construction began only in May 2024. It is financed through a Japanese development loan.
