IHCL to develop Sindhudurg's first 5-star hotel
Hospitality major Indian Hotels Company Limited (IHCL) has plans to develop Sindhudurg's first 5-star hotel. 52.63 hectares of land have been procured for the project in Shiroda-Velaghar as the firm aims to accelerate the development of the ambitious tourism project.
The land acquisition process faced some setbacks earlier, raising apprehensions about compensation for local farmers. Taking the issue into consideration, IHCL attended a meeting under the chairmanship of the Minister for Tourism of Maharashtra, Shambhuraj Desai. After which, the state government gave in-principle approval for a special compensation deal, and the process of signing a supplementary agreement among the local farmers, Taj Group, and the Maharashtra government.
