Rs 400 Crore Tender Floated By BMC
Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) has floated a tender worth Rs 400 crore for a pumping station at Mahul on salt pan land. This comes after the move to exchange land with a private builder to construct the pumping station hit a dead end. As per the information BMC after waiting for close to 2 years for a response from the salt department, had decided to construct the Mahul pumping station on private land and worked out a land exchange deal with Ajmera Realty and Infrastructure India Ltd.
However, the plan failed after new maps published by National Coastal Zone Management Authority showed that the land swapped by BMC with the builder was affected by Coastal Regulation Zone.
