Thane to Borivali Tunnel Project: L one bidder for the project declared
Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA) has announced the lowest (L one) bidder for one package each of the 11.84 km Thane – Borivali twin tunnel project’s construction in Mumbai.
Larsen & Toubro (L&T) and Megha Engineering & Infrastructures Ltd. (MEIL) have emerged as the L one bidder for the project. The project will feature 2 x 10.8 km road tunnels under Sanjay Gandhi National Park (SGNP) and a combined 1 km of approach roads on both ends.
MEIL bid Rs 7464 crore for package 1 which involves the Design and Construction of a 5.75 km long twin tube road tunnel, Borivali side.
L&T placed the bid of Rs 6625 crore for package 2 involving the Design and Construction of a 6.09 km Thane side long twin tube road tunnel.
