Tata Power to invest Rs 70,000 crore in Tamil Nadu
Tata Group's power arm Tata Power has plans to invest Rs 70,000 crore in Tamil Nadu. The investment would go into setting up 10 gigawatts (GW) solar and wind units in Tamil Nadu over a period of 5 to 7 years.
The announcement will be made soon and a memorandum of understanding (MoU) will be signed between the state government and Tata Power. As per the statement sum includes investments to the tune of Rs 15,000 crore which have already been committed to operational as well as under-construction projects in south and central Tamil Nadu.
