Asian Development Bank signs agreement worth USD 800 million with government of India
The government of India has signed an agreement with the Asian Development Bank (ADB). This agreement is worth $800 million to fund development projects across Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, and Gujarat.
This would help the Maharashtra Power Distribution Enhancement Programme, which is designed to upgrade rural power infrastructure and expand the use of solar energy in agriculture. It aims to supply daytime solar power to 900,000 agricultural consumers.
In Madhya Pradesh, it would help the Indore Metro Rail Project. In Gujarat, the amount would be used to support skills development initiatives to improve job readiness in sectors such as logistics, automotive, IT, and renewable energy.
