Bharat Forge joins hands with Pratt & Whitney Canada to explore engine integration
Pune-based Bharat Forge has joined hands with Canadian aircraft engine manufacturer Pratt & Whitney Canada (PWC) to explore the integration of advanced turboprop engines into a high-altitude, long-endurance (HALE) unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) programme.
The Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) has designed and developed the HALE UAV programme. Under the partnership, Pratt & Whitney Canada will evaluate engine compatibility, performance and installation requirements. At the same time, Bharat Forge will lead engine-airframe integration, including installation design and systems interfaces, drawing on its advanced engineering, manufacturing and aerospace systems capabilities.
