Pune Metro: Maharashtra government approves Rs 180 crore for expansion
The state government of Maharashtra has approved Rs 180 crore for the expansion of Pune Metro. This amount is approved for the 2026-27 financial year and covers equity support for the Vanaz-Chandni Chowk and Ramwadi-Wagholi extensions, equity support and an interest-free subordinate loan for the Swargate-Katraj corridor (Rs 100 crore as equity and Rs 80 crore as an interest-free subordinate loan).
Vanaz-Chandni Chowk and Ramwadi-Wagholi/Vitthalwadi are part of Corridor 2A, Corridor 2B respectively. Together, the corridors cover 12.75 km and 13 stations. Earlier, the government sanctioned a total subordinate loan of Rs 322.10 crore for the project.
