Dighi Shipbuilding Cluster: Mazagon Dock signs MoU for investment worth Rs 15,000 crore
Navratna Defence Public Sector Undertaking (PSU), Mazagon Dock Shipbuilders Ltd (MDL), has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with National Shipbuilding & Heavy Industries Park Maharashtra Ltd (NSHIPML) to invest Rs 15,000 crore in the proposed Dighi Shipbuilding Cluster in Maharashtra.
MDL will participate as the anchor shipyard in the proposed greenfield shipbuilding industrial cluster. Dighi greenfield shipbuilding cluster is estimated to involve an overall investment of around Rs 27,500 crore. This investment will help MDL in its plans for expansion into commercial shipbuilding.
