Kakinada SEZ plans to set desalination plant in Kona
The Amaravati Kakinada SEZ Limited has plans to develop a desalination plant in Andhra Pradesh. The firm's subsidiary, Auro Infra Realty and Infrastructur, would set up a 3x50 MLD (Million Liters per Day) Desalination Plant at Kona Village in Kakinada.
The proposed project would take an investment of Rs 1310 crore and aims to supply water to industries and reduce reliance on freshwater sources. As per updates, the project would comprise two seawater intake pipelines to draw 380 MLD from the sea to the desalination plant.
