Railway plans to boost connectivity to Haldia port with projects worth over Rs 25,106 crore
The Indian Railways (IR) is set to strengthen freight rail connectivity to Haldia Port in West Bengal by undertaking 18 projects spanning a total of 2,455 km. These initiatives are aimed at enhancing cargo handling capacity and improving overall logistics efficiency.
Of the 18 projects, eight have completed their Detailed Project Reports (DPRs) and have received an approved investment of Rs 25,106 crore. Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw shared details of these projects and the proposed investment in Parliament.
