Guwahati Metro: Assam Government announces feasibility study for the project
The state government of Assam has announced a feasibility study for the Guwahati Metro project. This announcement was made in the 2026–2027 State Budget, where the government also announced the Guwahati Ring Road project.
The proposed metro project will run over or alongside the planned 121-km Guwahati Ring Road. Guwahati Metro will be the first metro rail project in Northeast India.
