UPRVUNL and CIL form joint venture to develop renewable energy projects in Uttar Pradesh
Government-owned Coal India Limited (CIL) has signed an agreement with U.P. Rajya Vidyut Utpadan Nigam Limited (UPRVUNL). The agreement is to form a joint venture (JV) to develop renewable energy projects in Uttar Pradesh.
This development comes after CIL's recent Letter of Award (LoA) from Bundelkhand Saur Urja Limited (BSUL) to establish a 600 MW (2×300 MW) solar power project at the Jalaun Solar Power Park. This JV also falls in line with Coal India’s broader strategy to strengthen its presence in the renewable energy sector alongside its traditional coal business.
