Ranchi, Dhanbad, and Jamshedpur metro: Jharkhand government to accelerate ground work
The Jharkhand state government is all set to accelerate the groundwork for metro projects in Ranchi, Dhanbad, and Jamshedpur. Union government has already given in-principle approval for the Ranchi Metro, which will span 51.3 kilometres across three corridors.
These 3 corridors are:
- 16.1 km from Kachhari Gol Chakkar to Nayasarai
- 13.7 km corridor to connect Pahartoli with Namkum
- 21.5 km longest corridor will link Kanke with Tupudana
The work has entered the next stages, with work progressing on the Alternative Analysis Report (AAR) and the Detailed Project Report (DPR). Jharkhand Urban Infrastructure Development Company Limited (JUIDCO) has floated tenders for preparing the AAR and DPR for Ranchi. On the other hand, RITES has received letters of acceptance to prepare similar reports for the Jamshedpur and Dhanbad metro.
