Bhagwati products to invest over Rs 1,000 crore in mobile display production
Consumer electronics firm Micromax Informatics’ arm, Bhagwati Products, plans to invest Rs 1,015 crore in display manufacturing and precision moulding. According to updates from ET, the company’s projects have been approved by the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY) under the Electronics Component Manufacturing Scheme (ECMS).
Of the total investment, Rs 450 crore will be invested in a display manufacturing project to be undertaken through TXD India Technology Private Limited. The company will manufacture mobile phone displays at TXD India’s existing facility in Bawal, Rewari, Haryana, with an initial capacity of 1.5 million displays per month.
Another Rs 565 crore will be invested in precision moulding services, which will be undertaken at the company’s facility in Greater Noida.
