Centre approves railway project worth Rs 1,419 crore in Punjab
Former Union Minister of State for Railways Ravneet Singh Bittu has said that the government has approved the Qadian–Beas broad-gauge railway line project in Punjab. The 39.68-km project is estimated to cost Rs 1,419.05 crore.
The project will connect Qadian in Gurdaspur district with Beas in Amritsar district. The announcement comes ahead of the Punjab Assembly elections scheduled for next year. According to ET, the project was originally approved in 1928–29.
