The consortium of Indrajaal Autonomous Defence Systems and Sigma Advanced Systems has bagged orders worth Rs 155 crore from the Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India. Of the two orders, one, worth Rs 145 crore, has been awarded to the Indrajaal-Sigma consortium for border security applications, while a separate order worth around Rs 10 crore has been awarded by an urban police force for VVIP protection and urban security.
The consortium will deploy Indrajaal Ranger, a purpose-built mobile Counter-Unmanned Aircraft System (C-UAS) platform designed to detect, track, identify, and counter rogue drones while on the move. The border deployment is aimed at addressing threats, including drones used for narcotics trafficking, weapons smuggling, and surveillance, while the urban security deployment will support VVIP protection, public events, airports, and critical infrastructure.
