Hindustan Copper plans CAPEX worth Rs 7,000 crore
Government-owned Hindustan Copper has planned capital investment of over Rs 7,000 crore over the next five to six years. This capital expenditure (CAPEX) will fuel the expansion drive that includes exploration, mine revivals, and strategic partnerships.
The firm is actively pursuing the acquisition of new copper deposits both within India and overseas and is also working on the reopening of closed mines across the country. It has also signed multiple memoranda of understanding with leading public sector undertakings like RITES, Indian Oil Corporation, Coal India, Oil India and GAIL, to expand its mining footprint.
In a major development, Hindustan Copper announced a collaboration with CODELCO, Chile's state-owned copper company, aimed at capacity building, knowledge sharing and technical cooperation.
