Modified UDAN scheme: Government to select 50 ariports in first batch
The Union government will soon begin the process of selecting 50 airports in the first batch for development under the modified UDAN scheme. According to BusinessLine, nominations have been invited from state and Union Territory governments. The Regional Connectivity Scheme–Modified UDAN was announced in the Budget for a period of 10 years, from FY 2026–27 to FY 2035–36, with a total financial outlay of Rs 28,840 crore.
The scheme envisages the development of 100 airports and aerodromes over the next eight years.
