Gujarat CM launches projects worth over Rs 435 crore in Surat
The chief minister of Gujarat, Bhupendra Patel, inaugurated and laid the foundation stone for projects worth Rs 435.45 crore. These projects were related to the Surat Municipal Corporation (SMC) as part of Urban Development Year 2025.
Some of the projects include:
- 100-kilowatt solar power plant and a 224-kilowatt-hour capacity battery storage system at the Althan Electric Bus Depot
- Foundation stone laying of SMC’s wind power plant at Bhimguda village in Morbi
- Modern sports complex, Urban Health Centres, library, and shelter home in the South East Zone
- Two Primary Urban Health Centres, two ward offices, two VBDC (Vector Borne Disease Control) units, and a garden in the East Zone
- Sports facility centre and renovation of the garden in the South West Zone
- Drainage line network covering a distance of 19.76 kilometres in the Pal area, a tertiary treatment plant, and a wastewater pipeline
There were other projects that were launched by the CM, which aimed at enhancing the livability and connectivity of the city.
