Chandigarh power distribution signs pact with SECI for procurement of solar power
Chandigarh Power Distribution Ltd (CPDL) has signed a pact with the government-owned Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI) to procure 50 MW of solar power along with battery energy storage (BESS) for the city.
According to CPDL, the city will receive around 135 million units (MUs) of electricity annually, while reducing over 96 tonnes of CO2 (carbon dioxide). The agreement is for a period of 25 years.
