Mohali municipal corportaion to develop biogas plant at Samgauli
The Mohali Municipal Corporation (MC) has approved the development of a compressed biogas plant at Samgoli village in Dera Bassi. The proposed plant will have the capacity to process around 300 tonnes of segregated wet waste daily.
According to the MC, wet waste from nine urban local bodies—Mohali, Zirakpur, Kharar, Nayagaon, Dera Bassi, Kurali, Lalru, Banur and Gharuan—will be transported to the plant every day for processing. The corporation plans to provide 15 to 20 acres of its approximately 39-acre land parcel at Samgoli to HPCL Renewable and Green Energy Ltd, a subsidiary of Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Ltd (HPCL), for the project.
