Railways approves projects worth Rs 630 crore across three states
Indian Railways has approved projects worth Rs 630 crore spread across Gujarat, Bihar, and West Bengal. The work involves expanding operational capacity, modernising signalling infrastructure, and improving freight movement across key railway corridors.
These projects cover:
- Rs 272 crore bypass line between Adra and Joychandipahar in South Eastern Railway (SER)
- Rs 233 crore for installing Electronic Interlocking (EI) at 21 stations in Samastipur Division of East Central Railway (ECR)
- Rs 125 crore yard remodelling project at Bhavnagar Para in Gujarat
According to railways, the investments come as part of its focus on eliminating operational bottlenecks, upgrading signalling systems and creating additional capacity to support rising passenger and freight traffic.
