Union Shipping Minister launches projects worth over Rs 427 crore in Odisha
The Union Minister for Ports, Shipping and Waterways, Sarbananda Sonowal, inaugurated 7 infrastructure projects worth Rs 427.80 crore at Paradip Port Authority (PPA) in Odisha. These projects inaugurated by the minister are:
- Rs 352 crore capital dredging project that will enable the port to handle fully laden Capesize vessels in its inner harbour
- Rs 24.89 crore second new 500-metre, 3-lane bridge over Atharbanki Creek
- Rs 15.50 crore Advanced Vessel Traffic Management and Information System
- Rs 20 crore project to provide piped natural gas to 546 residential quarters
- Rs 12.18 crore façade upgrade of the administrative office building
- Rs 2.10 crore for sports hostel
The minister also witnessed the signing of concession agreements for three mechanisation projects involving an investment of Rs 1,580.36 crore.
