Maharashtra Government plans chemical parks spread over 5,000 acres in the state
The Maharashtra government is planning to formulate a dedicated Chemical Sector Policy as it looks to develop chemical parks spanning up to 5,000 acres in the state. The parks are proposed in Palghar, Raigad and Ratnagiri, with individual parks ranging from 2,500 to 5,000 acres.
The Maharashtra government is also proposing a Rs 1,000-crore fund for research, technology and innovation as it seeks to attract fresh investment and strengthen the state’s position in high-value chemical manufacturing. The Chemical Sector Policy is also expected to be tabled by the end of October 2026.
