Air India to get capital infusion of more then Rs 10,000 crore
The board of Tata Sons has approved a fresh capital infusion of more than Rs 10,000 crore into Air India. The board meeting was chaired by Tata Sons Chairman N Chandrasekaran and attended by Tata Trusts Chairman Noel Tata and Vice Chairman Venu Srinivasan, according to reports.
The investment is subject to certain conditions, including a requirement for Air India and other group companies to present a business case when seeking funding. Under Article 121A of Tata Sons’ Articles of Association, investments exceeding Rs 100 crore require majority approval from Tata Trusts’ nominee directors.
