Gujarat government plans to install rooftop solar projects on 15,000 government buildings
The Gujarat government is planning a major push towards clean energy, aiming to install grid-connected rooftop solar systems on 15,000 additional buildings in the current financial year. A total budget of Rs 314 crore is earmarked for the program in FY 2026–27, targeting 65 MW of additional solar capacity.
Gujarat Energy Development Agency (GEDA) is implementing the project, and as per the state government, 1,377 government buildings were equipped with rooftop solar systems during 2025-26, adding 17.1 MW of renewable energy capacity.
