Harnandipuram project: Uttar Pradesh government approves Rs 943 crore for land purchase
The Uttar Pradesh government has approved Rs 943 crore for the Harnandipuram township project under the Chief Minister Urban Expansion New City Promotion Scheme. The approved amount will be used for land acquisition.
Approved in 2024, the Harnandipuram township will span 521 hectares across eight villages. The project's cost will be shared by the Uttar Pradesh government and the Ghaziabad Development Authority (GDA). Earlier, the state government earmarked Rs 1,366 crore as capital seed funding for the project, while the GDA has already contributed Rs 400 crore towards its development.
The total cost of developing the Harnandipuram township is estimated at Rs 15,000 crore.
