Defence industrial corridors in UP and Tamil Nadu attract investment worth Rs 70,000 crore
The government has unveiled two industrial corridors in Tamil Nadu and Uttar Pradesh. Uttar Pradesh Defence Industrial Corridor (UPDIC) is spread across six nodes: Kanpur, Jhansi, Lucknow, Aligarh, Agra and Chitrakoot.
The Tamil Nadu Defence Industrial Corridor (TDIC) has five nodes: Chennai, Hosur, Coimbatore, Salem and Tiruchirappalli. UPDIC attracted investment commitments worth Rs 42,057 crore, with grounded investments of Rs 4,409 crore across six nodes: Kanpur, Jhansi, Lucknow, Aligarh, Agra and Chitrakoot.
TDIC has attracted investments worth Rs 32,699 crore by April 2026, with Rs 6,446 crore of grounded investments.
