Ganga Corridor: Government approves over Rs 14447 crore for the project
Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs (CCEA), chaired by the Prime Minister, has approved 14,447.64 crore for the Ganga Corridor project. The six-lane greenfield elevated corridor will link the National Highway-19 (NH-19) with the Varanasi Ring Road.
The work will be executed on the Hybrid Annuity Model (HAM) and involves a six-lane elevated main carriageway, an iconic cable-stayed bridge, an extradosed foot over bridge-cum-major bridge, loops, ramps, link roads, and service roads. This 46.039-km-long project aims to decongest Varanasi by providing direct connectivity between NH-19 and the ring road through a new riverbank corridor along the river Ganga.
