Kathua to get new pharmaceutical manufacturing facility, investment worth Rs 600 crores to flow in
Pharmaceutical firm, Orchid Pharma, is setting up a new pharmaceutical manufacturing facility in the Kathua district of Jammu and Kashmir. Union Minister Jitendra Singh laid the foundation stone for the project, which will take an investment of Rs 600 crores.
This new facility will manufacture the critical antibiotic intermediate Amino Cephalosporanic Acid (ACA). According to The Economic Times, the project will be set up in Gadadhar village, with support from the Biotechnology Industry Research Assistance Council (BIRAC) under the Department of Biotechnology.
