Cabinet approves highway projects worth Rs 14,115 crore in Delhi, and Uttar Pradesh
Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs (CCEA), chaired by PM Modi, has approved highway projects worth Rs 14,115 crore. These projects are: Kanpur–Kabrai Access-Controlled Greenfield Highway in Uttar Pradesh, and a six-lane road tunnel for NH-148AE connecting Dwarka Expressway (NH 248 BB) with Nelson Mandela Marg in Delhi.
As per ETInfra.com, the 117.7 km highway project in Kanpur will be a four-lane, access-controlled corridor with structures designed for future six-laning. It forms a key segment of the Bhopal–Kanpur Economic Corridor under the National Highways (O) Programme.
The estimated cost of the project is Rs 7,145.14 crore, and it will be implemented by the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) on the BOT (Toll) mode over the next 2 years. The Project in Delhi is a six-lane road tunnel spanning 8.1 km. It will be executed on Hybrid Annuity Mode (HAM) with an estimated cost of Rs 6,969.67 crore.
