Greater Chennai Corporation to undertake road upgrade worth Rs 150 crore
The Greater Chennai Corporation (GCC) is looking to upgrade damaged bus routes and interior roads across all 15 zones under its jurisdiction. According to The Economic Times, GCC has prepared detailed project reports (DPRs) for upgrading 45.13 km of 66 damaged bus route roads and 114.87 km of 714 interior roads, covering a total of 160 km across 780 roads.
The projects are estimated to cost around Rs 150 crore. The proposal is currently being scrutinised by the Tamil Nadu Urban Finance and Infrastructure Development Corporation (TUFIDCO), which is assessing the estimates and taking steps towards approving the funds.
Once TUFIDCO grants approval, GCC will float tenders for the work.
