MIDC to acquire 5,550 acres of land in Nagpur
Maharashtra Government's body, the Maharashtra Industrial Development Corporation (MIDC), has plans to acquire an additional 5,500 acres of land in Nagpur. This land will be acquired to meet the needs of industrial projects for which MoUs have been signed, MIDC
According to MIDC CEO Dipendra Singh, existing industrial areas at Hingna and Butibori are nearly fully occupied, so the focus is on developing industrial zones at Narkhed, Katol, Saoner and Kuhi to accommodate upcoming projects. MIDC is also focusing on accelerating industrial development in Nagpur, Gadchiroli and Chandrapur. 20% of the land in every MIDC industrial zone is being reserved for micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs).
