EESL to roll out AI-enabled streetlight project in Andhra Pradesh
Government-owned Energy Efficiency Services Limited (EESL) is set to roll out India's first AI (Artificial Intelligence) enabled streetlighting project. EESL will implement the project in partnership with the Commissioner and Director of Municipal Administration (CDMA), Government of Andhra Pradesh.
Nearly 10.5 lakh street lights — 7.5 lakh under the initial phase and an additional 3 lakh under the extended scope — will be replaced with ILM-enabled smart LED streetlights integrated with a centralised monitoring platform.
Before rollout, EESL will introduce an advanced individual light-monitoring network with AI-enabled intelligent controls. EESL will sign a tripartite agreement with CDMA and urban local bodies (ULBs) to implement the project.
