Mumbai 3.0 project: MMRDA signs agreement with Singapore firm for vision document
The Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA) has signed an agreement with the Singapore-based consultancy firm Surbana Jurong for the Mumbai 3.0 project. The Singaporean firm will prepare a vision document and a comprehensive master plan for the project.
This plan will include land use, transport networks, housing, industrial and commercial zones, social infrastructure and other civic amenities. The proposed Mumbai 3.0 project will be spread over around 323.44 sq km, covering 124 villages in the Panvel, Uran and Pen talukas of Raigad district.
Mumbai 3.0 is conceptualised as a large, integrated urban and economic centre that supports residential, commercial, industrial, institutional, logistics, and employment-led development while easing pressure on Mumbai city.
