Uttar Pradesh government allocates Rs 15,400 crore for expressway projects
The Uttar Pradesh state government has allocated Rs 15,400 crore for multiple expressway projects in the state. The allocation was made in the supplementary budget for 2026–27, which was recently tabled in the state Assembly.
According to the updates:
The government has allocated Rs 6,500 crore for land acquisition for the construction of the proposed Vindhya Expressway. The highway will connect the 594-kilometre Ganga Expressway to Sonbhadra via Prayagraj, Mirzapur, Varanasi, and Chandauli districts.
Rs 5,700 crore has been earmarked for land acquisition for the extension of the Meerut–Prayagraj Ganga Expressway.
Rs 250 crore has been allocated for the Noida International Airport–Ganga Expressway Greenfield Expressway via Bulandshahr.
Rs 400 crore has been allocated for the Agra–Lucknow Expressway to Ganga Expressway (Hardoi via Farrukhabad) Greenfield Expressway Project.
Rs 80 crore has been allocated for the Vindhya Expressway.
Rs 2,300 crore has been allocated for land acquisition for the Purvanchal Link Spur, connecting Sonbhadra to Chandauli and Ghazipur districts along the Vindhya Expressway.
The government has also allocated Rs 80 crore for civil works related to the Meerut–Haridwar Ganga Expressway extension, Rs 80 crore for the Vindhya Expressway Purvanchal Link Spur, and Rs 100 crore for the Chilla Regulator (Delhi)–Noida Elevated Flyover.
