L&T bags major orders in transmission and distribution sector
International business firm Larsen & Toubro (L&T) has bagged mega orders worth between Rs 2,500 crore and Rs 5,000 crore (as per L&T's classification). The power transmission and distribution division has bagged orders from India and the Middle East.
One of the orders involves the implementation of an advanced distribution management system (ADMS) in West Bengal. From the Middle East, the firm bagged a significant contract in Saudi Arabia to build a 380 kV substation, crucial for evacuating solar power and supporting the country’s renewable energy objectives. Further, it bagged a contract to develop a 400 kV substation in Kuwait.
In Dubai, the firm bagged an order for developing several extra-high-voltage (EHV) substations, including a 40/132 kV substation, as part of the city’s ongoing power transmission infrastructure modernization.
